Hello! I'm Laura Kirkpatrick

I was raised on a farm in Stanford, KY. My dad worked very hard to single-handedly raise my sister and I while my mom was in the Navy. I’m dyslexic, and even though I graduated from Lincoln County High School, I hated school, and I struggled the whole time. I remember sitting in my seat sunk down in my chair in class thinking “please don’t pick me to read out loud in class.” I believe if I didn’t go through all of that to make me strong in life then I wouldn’t have been able to handle the stress in L.A.

I was chosen from tens of thousands of others by model and show host Tyra Banks and other celebrity judges to appear on Cycle 13 of America's Next Top Model on the CW. First, I was chosen from auditions in Chicago, then went to Los Angeles where the show was filmed. Fourteen of us lived together and competed for a $100,000 Cover Girl contract and a modeling contract with Elite Model Management. It was hard. I missed my family, but I was also so busy that I didn’t have too much time to think about it. At the end of it all, I made it to the final episode and was the Runner-Up!

I returned home from L.A. to my family waiting for me at the airport, and one of my grandma's home cooked meals. My dad put me right back to work on the farm, but I didn't stay there for long. My success on ANTM led to a lot of opportunities in the modeling industry, including: a national campaign for PAC SUN, a Commercial for MTV music awards for KIA soul, a spread in Seventeen prom magazine, the Cover of Glam Couture, a Lead role in William Fitzsimmons' "Beautiful Girl" music video, appearance in Wisin and Yandel featuring 50 cent music video "No Dejemos Que se Apague", appearance on the Tyra Banks' show, a spread in Modern Salon Magazine, and a second ANTM experience for America's Next Top Model cycle 17 ALL STARS!

Because of my struggle with dyslexia, I started a foundation called The Beautiful Minds that hosts runway shows and other events to raise awareness for dyslexia education.I have always enjoyed painting t-shirts; so, I decided to start my own t-shirt company, Sioux Co. My grunge rock themed clothing and accessories are always fashionable and comfortable.
